This was the second project that Kathak Dancer and artistic director of Drishti Dance, Anuradha Chaturvedi, invited me to work with her on. It was an exciting experimentation with movement, visual arts and music that explored the connection of cardinal directions to human consciousness. The result was a new piece of contemporary Kathak, which fused traditional technique with contemporary staging, structural devices and themes. The project was Supported by Arts Council’s National Lottery Fund, Oxford Dance Forums’ Evolution fund and Dance Reading.
